Cable from PC to 4K TV.

Hiya,

I wanna watch a movie tonight on my parents Smart 4K TV, yesterday I watched a movie but it was really choppy and I used a HDMI cable, I've been thinking if I use a DVI to HDMI tonight to see if I get better smoothness.

So yeah basically the movie was really choppy and laggy and sometimes the subtitles would be displayed before the actual movements of lips and sometimes you could see the choppiness in the movie, especially if something really fast happened, it almost became like a blurry mess.

So my final question is, what kind of a cable would suit my needs the best?

Was the hdmi cable gold tipped ?
That would be a high speed cable if it was.

A 4k t.v. should also have a display connection as well which is similar to hdmi it's just a different shape.
Same deal though gold tipped work the best.

Yeah gold tipped but now I used a dvi male at the gpu and a hdmi female.

And there was less choppiness.

You were originally using hdmi to hdmi from the gpu's hdmi port and had issues ?

Well kinda I mean it's still a bit choppy at times especially when there's fast movement.

No not really, but the TV does have native 100hz, might that cause a problem?

Possibly just a weird hdmi port on the card or t.v. ?
Did you try other hdmi ports on the t.v. ?

No didn't check the other ports, next time I will, all of the ports were 60hz.
