Is it the Steam version or the Retail version ?

Try this
1. Right click on the CoD Icon and select properties.
2. Click on the tab "Compatibility"
3. Put a check in the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
4. Click on the pop down box thing under it and select "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)"
5. Click apply
Thats for the retail version

Retail version = got it from the shop
Steam version = you bought it off steam store ( store.steampowered.com )

I have the same problem but I have another problem...
I don't have Windows XP Service pack 3 at my compatibility section!!!
Please help!!! I would love to play this game

And I have windows Vista, and I just noticed that this is a Windows Seven forum

hi, i have the same error that Aravintharajan but it seems like i have CoD "steam version" because it didn't work the trick in Compability options.. :S i was in the middle of the game and now it crashes always... solutions? thanks from uruguay

Even with the steam edition you can still go to the folder holding the codsp.exe and change the compability mode for it.

Morning

I have loaded Call of Duty United Offensive v1.41 on Windows 10 Pro 64 bit
It loaded fine but when I want to play the game nothing happens.
Went into Combability options: changed to Windows XP Service pack 3
Nothing happens.
Please help
