can any type of viruses run when usb is plugged in

at previous windows when you plugged in infected usbs the virus was coming in your system files automatically
can this happen in windows 7?

Gamoto, yes IF autorun is turned on by your os. If there is a autorun.exe setup on the usb drive then it could run a program on the usb and install.

Most Anti-virus program prevent this by checking your plug in usb devices when they first are plugged in.
