Solved Can Excel insert blank lines between Dates in a Series.

I need to prepare a year's worth of Sign-In sheets for my son's business.
The sheets are in Date format and require two blank lines between each Date.
This allows up to three Clerks to sign in for any specific Date.
Doing this for 52 weeks leaves a lot to change.
First, I need to type in every Date, then go back and insert two Blank lines between them.
If you can help me, I would appreciate it.
An example is included / attached.

Drag downward. Dates will automatically increment by one day.

I am a klutz and an Excel Novice!

Your solution is elegant, however I cannot get it to work.

Here is what I tried:

I enter the date in the first Excel Cell in Row number four.
I then hold the Shift Key and Arrow down two additional Rows.

I'm guessing this is how I should select the additional two Rows.

Then I move the Curser to the Cell with the Date in it.
I click on that Cell and move the Curser down X numbers of Rows and release it.
Nothing happens, no additional Dates appear.

I'm doing something wrong but do not understand what.

Can you get me on track?

I believe your issue is dragging. You have to click the lower-right corner of the selection (the square in the corner) and drag down. This works in Excel and LibreOffice Calc too!

Each page of the data covers seven days.

Might there be a way to cause Excel to jump to / start a new page as it fills in the dates?

1/2/2022 thru 1/8/2022 comprise a weeks worth of sign-in data.

Logically, it would be followed by:

1/9/2022 thru 1/15/2022.

Perhaps it's not possible in Excel?

Again, your labor saving solution is more than I hoped for.

Excel is one of the most robust spreadsheets! I believe your solution is a macro! You can have Excel perform pretty much whatever you wish. Great program. I'll peruse the available data and get back to you. Happy New Year!

The solution I gave you is actually a basic thing that Excel allows you to do. I have always used the drag and increment for single lines but you wanted to do it for three lines at a time. I tried it and was surprised that it worked for three lines also.

You will enjoy Excel more if you study up on it and learn about even more of the capabilities it has. Have a good year and don't forget there is always something new to learn.

BTW, I have using Excel for 25 years now and have only learned of and have used a small fraction of its capabilities. I still have a lot to learn.

Good you are still around and enjoying using Excel. Hopefully since you last posted you have learned even more about about using Excel. I have been using Excel for more than 25 years now. In that time I have only learned how to use a fraction of its capabilities.
