Unwanted blank lines in outgoing emails

Hello:

Need help, please! My new laptop is running Win 7 Home Premium (64 bit) -- also, IE 9, Windows Live Mail and Windows Live Hotmail. Here's the problem:

When composing a new email, it looks fine until it is sent. The recipient, however, recieves a message riddled with unwanted "blank" lines between paragraphs and lines of text. This is not acceptable, especially for business correspondence.

No issues were experienced with my first 3-4 emails. Since then, the problem has been consistent. Might I have inadvertently changed a setting somewhere?

Are you using Hotmail through the program (WLM) or through the browser (IE9)?

Thanks for your offer of help. Sorry, I do not know if I am using Hotmail through the program (WLM) or through the browser (IE9). How can I tell?

If you start by opening up your browser (IE9) and going to the web site "Hotmail.com" you are using Hotmail through your browser. If you start doing email by clicking on an email icon which opens up the email program called "Windows Live Mail" you are using the program. If your own email address includes "@Hotmail.com", that account would be set up within the WLM program, if you are using that or it would appear in the IE9 window if you were using IE9.
