Can I clean reinstall Win 7 without going thru login page?

I cannot get to login page on Windows 7 after clean reinstall of the OS. Neither Safe mode, "repair your computer" doesn't load.

Then you didn't do the install correctly or the DVD or ISO you made the DVD or thumb drive with was bad or you have a hardware problem. Why did you do a clean install? what problem were you having? Did you use the Clean Command to wipe the drive before you started the install?

If you didn`t create a password during the install ( the only proper way to do it IMO ) then it goes straight to the desktop.

What is your exact problem ?

When I did clean reinstall, it prompted me for password. I responded with one. After clean reinstall, every thing operated good for about an hour. It then froze up. After waiting for it to unfreeze and trying Ctrl-alt-delete, it remained frozen. I did a hard shutdown and haven't been able to get files to load thru F8 solutions or repair computer , or safe mode since the hard shutdown. It stops at Starting Windows splash page no matter what mode I am in.

You do not need to enter a password during the install, just click next when it comes to this. You will be doing a lot of restarting the pc and it gets annoying. It can always be added later. Is this a home desktop ? In my opinion, there is no need for a password on a home desktop.

Looks like you`ll be reinstalling.

Make sure you format the install partition, ( during your next install ) as it now already has 1 install of windows on it

Then follow these steps to get a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which are same for retail.

Thank you for responding. As I mentioned, I already did a reinstall. I simply followed the prompts given toe by the computer. It did not have me to format or partition the drive. So i did not know that I needed to do it. It did prompt me to enter password, which I did. Now I can't get past the welcome splash screen to enter the password so I can get to the start button to redo my installation. Safe mode won't load files and normal startup just stops running at the splash screen. I hope I have clarified myself.

I understand that and suggested you test your hardware, then either proceed with the Troubleshooting steps or follow the steps to get a perfect reinstall.

Where did you get Win7? Did you burn the DVD yourself? Confirm the ISO is intact and burn another using ImgBurn at 4x speed. Or write to flash stick using method given in Step 2 of Clean Reinstall tutorial, which shows you how to get a perfect reinstall - not the one you did.

This time after booting the installer, at first screen press Shift + F10 to open a Command Box to wipe the HD with Diskpart Clean Command

I know I might sound like a broken record, but I can't go online thru my computer to download the items you suggest. I am using my cell phone to write my problem to the forum. Would any of these downloads be correct for my computer if i used someone elses machine? Or maybe there is a way to bypass the splash screen that I am unaware of to get me to my Internet explorer. I tried SafeMode but files will not load to activate my connection. Sorry if I sound tech challenged, but I am. Thanks for your understanding.

You can try this first, report back results:

Unplug all other HD's and peripherals,

Boot into BIOS setup by tapping the key given on first boot screen. Enable Legacy BIOS if present. Next check BIOS Boot order for an EFI Boot Disk and if present remove it, set DVD drive first to boot, HD second. Then set SATA controller to AHCI. Save changes and Exit.

Then boot into installer DVD or flash stick burned or written using tool and latest ISO for your licensed here.

At first installer screen Press Shift + F10 to open a Command Box, type:

DISKPART
LIST DISK
SELECT DISK 0 (after confirming Windows 7 target HD #)
CLEAN
CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY SIZE=102400 (for 100gb partition, adjust as desired)
FORMAT FS=NTFS LABEL="WINDOWS 7"
ACTIVE
EXIT
EXIT

Next click Install Now to Clean Install Windows 7 to the partition you created. If it fails then report back at which step and the verbatim error message.

In addition read over these steps to understand the tools and methods which work best to get and maintain a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. The steps are the same for retail.

Simple fact is you have a hardware problem. More then likely the hard drive is failing. Since you haven't bother to state Why you did the Reinstall the first time but I can guess it was because of system freezes or BSODs. You need to do whatever anyone on this forum asks you to do to Test the Hardware in your system.

The reason I think it is the hard drive failing is because you said it ran fine for about an hour then Froze and now you can't boot the system to the welcome screen. To me that is a sure sign the drive has gotten corrupted and that doesn't happen unless there is something wrong with it. If it was a RAM problem it most likely would of shown up when you were doing the Re-Install.

Thank you Edwar for the input. Yes, I figured that was the problem but I wanted to be sure of any other software problems before I replace the Hard Drive. And yes the reason I did the original reinstall was because of freeze up. I originally thought it was an nvidia driver problem that updated to a Windows 8 fix. Or I thought may "Spotify" was the problem since the freeze up on the reinstall happened just after I downloaded their program. Thanks again for your help.

Have you confirmed the HD is bad using maker's HD Diagnostic extended CD scan? This is the way to know for sure.

No but thank you for asking. Computer doesn't even acknowledge that Windows 7 is on my disk. I now have 3 partitions on my drive but it is only accessing #3. I am trying to access other partions but can't because I am unable to get past welcome splash screen. Is there a way around this thru command prompt. If so I don't know the command. I did get onto disk from a friends house the installation software BUT computer says invalid file name.

Did you download the official installer ISO and burn using MS Download tool or Imgburn at 4x speed? If not do it correctly from Steps 1 and 2 of Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

Then set DVD drive first to boot in BIOS setup: How to Boot your Computer from a Bootable CD or DVD.
Are you prompted to Press any Key to Boot Disk?
