can i disable ReadyBoost ?

if you want to disable the usb port..you can set at regedit. or use software to lock the usb.

No,i dont' want to lock the usb port.
But i thought,if i don't use any USB flash drive to improve my OS,i could disable this option, from Services.
If i disable it,do i get troubles in the future, when i insert any USB stick / external HDD ?

Go into Properties of the USB, and disable it that way.
You can also choose to configure it, say 30% will be allocated for Readyboost, the remainder is for storage.

First, stop disabling services. This will only lead to potential problems, and gain nothing in terms of performance. This isn't XP, so don't treat it like XP.

Second, do not disable ReadyBoost. It includes something called ReadyBoot, which aids in optimizing boot processes and times.

I'm not sure how many more times it needs to be typed, but the best tweaking advice for Windows 7 is...leave it alone.

stereo, I noticed quite a bit of threads like this from you. As a friendly suggestion, just enjoy using your computer. There is no magic tweak or setting that's going to gain performance. Make sure you have the OS and drivers up to date, and go on using the computer.

take it from somebody who is an obsessed tweaker , if your disabling for extra/faster performance forget it , disabling any running windows service will have zero effect on performance , ive tweaked , disabled , and turned off everything you think you dont need and have then tested every game and benchmark to destruction and gained absolutely bugger all

and one day you'll run somthing or install something and it wont work , and you'll spend HOURS trying to figure out why , then when you re-eanble those windows services you'll finally find out why , as long as you think to do it in the first place.........ive been there

Maybe,the best i could do,is to purchase 2 GB RAM,but for the moment i'm happy with my 3 gb ddr3. SSD would be better,i think.
I'm new with OS Windows 7,and i need some time to understand this OS

PS : I can't understand why Microsoft removed the option in windows explorer to turn off auto arrange ( folders )

There is a HUGE difference between disabling windows services and removing some apps from running at system boot. HUGE.

Disabling Windows Services = bad and useless to performance
Disabling unnecesaary third-party apps from running at boot = excellent, should be done, will save on memory and boot time.

If you are able to dish out the 100 bucks for the SSD, go for it. You will not regret it - guaranteed.

that's good choice..i think is leave it..because that the feature of windows 7.
so for what you must to disable as the service didn't disturb you.
