Can I disable time-shift to watch tv on MCE?

As it demands a lot of processing and hd writes that may be good when doing multiple tasks. I coudn't find any options to it.
Did not find any threads about it. I appreciate a lead.

Sure just add about 128Gig of RAM and 4 quads...OK, maybe not so extreme..but the idea of time shift is to be able to play, pause, rewind, live TV. Where would you put the buffered file?

ROFL - Well, I used to watch TV on Pinnacle software or Cyberlink´s power VCR. both softwares gave me an option to disable time shift (the default option)... in fact I´d just used that function eventualy (watching some movies) because at most of the time my TV is on just to distract me (news or discovery channel) while I am doing other things as converting .avi to dvds or reading some articles.

It will be good to get control of it on MCE as well maybe some people find usefull to increase the buffer size of the time shift beyond the MS defined settings. and I don´t think I need to use 20-30% of the CPU just to watch TV. I used to do that with 5-10% using minimal resources.

some people reported it won´t work on Windows 7 x64

I will give a shot on the next weekend using ZERO values on the parameters just to check if that can disable the time shift option

No. the topic has not migrated. My goal is still to Disable that resources' eater monster: time-shift aka buffer time. I am wondering if I can cheat MCE if I fill those buffer parameters with zeros like please MCE record zero seconds of buffer

that's the only lead I could find regarding that issue. everyplace I look people cannot disable it. I supose MS wins again!

Welcome back, little thread.

Any way to disable this? Every time I turn around I have this irritating time bar on the screen that I don't want and will never use. The web says you can't turn it off, but we have lots of smart people here who can do the impossible.

Any ideas?
