Can I run Battlefield 1 with I7 940?

I have a i7 940 CPU, will it run BF1? My GFX card meets recommended requirements but not sure about cpu.

I'm actually referring to the new one. It states the minimum CPU is i5 6600k, I don't know enough about CPU specifics to know if my i7 will handle it.

You're still fine. It's still powerful than the Skylake i3 Processors. As long as you have Four Cores or Dual Core on HT, or Four Cores on HT then the difference in frames isn't far from each other.
