Solved Can i still use my pc while its being defragmented

I was wondering is it possible to play games and surf the internet or even listen to music and play around with photoshop while i doing a defragmentation on my pc? I am asking because I have heard that its not good to do anything or have any programs running while your pc is being defragged.

Hello Bigboi,

You could, but it would slow down the defragmenter and take longer to run. It would be best to schedule the defragmenter to run when the computer will be turned on and idle to allow it to run uninterrupted for better and faster results.

The defrager built into Windows is designed to run in the background so you can continue to use the computer.

thanks you guys one more thing I heard that its best to use or defrag insafe mode that way no files are being used by back ground programs and windows due to the fact that if something is being used then it cannot be defragged do to the programs or files being in use during the time of defragging ?
