can i upgrade my intel e4500 cpu to "this" one?

as it says i'm looking for a better cpu and i had bought one (someone elses recommendation) that is the wrong size those being an intel e4500 and an e7500 so i'm looking for another one i found 2 possible ones i think or if anyone has any recommendations thanks in advanced

E7500 looks like a Wolfdale processor you need Pentium/ Pentium D/ Pentium 4 or Celeron D.
I can't tell what the ones you posted are ?
E8400 is another Wolfdale.

oohhh i see face palm the fsb is higher than the mobo's capacity lol both i said have 1333 i need 1066

I think the Core 2 Duo E6700 would be the strongest CPU you can use.

You have a core 2 duo E4500 now?

The E4500 runs at 2.2 ghz; the E6700 at 2.66 ghz.

Maybe a noticeable difference, but not huge. You can probably find a used one on Ebay for under $20.

There is also a "Pentium E6700", but I don't think that will work.

Good to know I would of guessed the pentium 4 would of been the best :/
