Can i use a wireless printer without having a computer connected?

Hi i am interested in buying a wireless printer and i was wondering if i need to have a computer connected to it at all times to run it correctly,

I have got a laptop and i just want to wireless print from it,

Could i set up the wireless printer in a room without connecting it to anything and thenprint from my laptop in another room?

Will it work?

Hi, it does work for me without a computer on. The printer connects to the router not the pc
