Can Not Access Bluetooth settings !?!?!?!

I have tried multiple avenues to create a sync partnership via bluetooth between my ideapad and htc 620s, to wit:

MS BT Stack
Toshiba BT Stack
BlueSoleil BT Stack

All, to no avail.

I can establish a serial connections (fleeting) when using the Blue Soleil and Toshiba Stacks... but still can not use the activesync service (just serial port... which will not create the correct comm partnerships... and stereo headset).

But, what I find to be truly strange is... when using the default MS Stack (with CSR radio drivers), I can not access the Bluetooth settings via the task tray (right click). Furthermore... putting both devices in discovery mode (my laptop via add device functionality) neither device detects the other.

I am dual booting with vista x64... and have no problems using the same laptop, dongle, phone and default ms stack (obvioulsy different OS). Any advice would be appreciated.

Solved with fresh install.

I have had the same problem here on my nc10 - also installed a fresh copy and it seemed to work for a couple of weeks, now the problem is back and exactly as described above.

I do not want to try another fresh install. Can anyone make any suggestions?

This Worked For Me

I was having the same issues as listed above, also using windows 7. Everything would install but I could not access settings for the blue tooth dongle, What I did to fix this was entered the services settings (windows search - services -) and check everything that says bluetooth. also change all settings to automatic.

Good Luck.

Yep, saw something similar mentioned the other day about a similar issue, and the above worked for them.

I am able to set both "Bluetooth Sevice" and "Bluetooth Support" to 'Automatic' (as opposed to 'Manual'), but I don't understand what you folks mean when you say "check everything that says bluetooth.

Is there supposed to be some check box that is missing from my computer alone? Do you mean check that these services are set to 'Automatic'?

Please help... I would like to be one of the people who say "Thanks, I did ______ and it works fine."

Orrrr...

if you made a stupid mistake like me, you can try searching (windows) for : Manager, then click Device Manager, finally check whether or not the Bluetooth is functioning properly
