Hi...

I'm running Win7 Ultimate.

My issue is specific to a restore of my XP Pro system into a VM with XP Mode.

1) I installed the Xp Mode & Update properly

2) I created a Virtual Machine via a restore of my XP Pro system via my Acronis ABR 10

3) XP Mode works fine, and my restore of my XP PRO system will open up in XP Mode; though when I go to Enable Integration, it gets enabled, but won't allow it to open unless I provide a password.

4) At the get go, I created a password with installation, and did not change or delete it. It provides a default USER NAME of > XPMUser. I gave it a password.

5) I've tried to use this "User Name & Password" but it doesn't work. I also have NO Password set for my User Administration account. I'm a home user & have no need for one.

6) What is connected to the "Integration"? >> My other various hard-drives that I wish to access. Yes, the hard-drive that my VM is located on is also on one of these hard-drives too if that matters. They are Sata Drives.

Could this have to do with an Security or Local Policy stuff?? I'm just guessing, for I know bannanas about them. :p

Can you PLEASE advise me on how to sort out this User Name/Password issue that only seems to come up when I "Enable Integration" utility in XP Mode. :o  :sarc:

Thank-you so very much!

Kris :geek:

Hello, Krispy, welcome to the Seven Forums.

If you want to enable integration, you have to use passwords. XP Mode accepts non-password user accounts only when integration is disabled.

Here's a tutorial in case you want later add limited user accounts to your XP Mode.
