Hello,

I am pretty good with computers and have never been able to fix any problem on my own, but this virus has been working circles around me. First it went blue screen memory dump on me. Turned it back on and it worked fine for a few hours, but then crashed again. Every time I tried to run any anti virus/malware programs they would all freeze. Now I can get them to run, but none of them every find any problems. ESET did pick up 5 issues, but computer is still slow, unpredictable, freeze and windows won't even start sometimes. Oh and since this happened, I get the "this version of windows is not genuine." When I put in the product key it does not work.

I've been screwing with this thing on and off for about 40 hrs. and I am officially admitting defeat. Not sure what info to post so just tell me what you need to diagnose the problem.

Thank you

Your awesome for reading this.
suiciderandy,

Was your system infected with some sort of malware? Was it ransomware, like FBI Virus or the Moneypak Virus, etc...

If, for example, malware changes a device driver, Microsoft does not allow unlimited changes in devices without asking you to revalidate. So, if malware created some malicious driver, or infected something like the Master Boot Record (MBR), Windows recognizes that the configuration changed. It then asks to re-enter the product key. Sometimes, however, the Windows Activation screen is fake.

Try Validating Windows 7: Genuine Microsoft Software

If no-go, :info: please use the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool.
Download: Farbar Recovery Scan Tool Download
Select the version that applies to your system: 32-bit
Save it to your Desktop.
Double-click the downloaded file to run it.

When the tool opens click Yes to the disclaimer.

At the program's console, press the Scan button.

When done, the tool produces a log, FRST.txt, in the same directory from which the tool is run (Desktop).

:ar: Please provide the FRST.txt in your reply.
