Hi all,

Appreciate some help please. I have setup the tuner and scanned in the channels, however most of the channels I cannot watch live and I have no idea why. What's even stranger is that I can record all live TV and then watch it back, but I cannot go straight to watching. Any ideas?

I have a 64bit computer with an AMD A6-5400K.

Thanks for any help

You probably have duplicate sources, but you didn't provide enough information about the type of tuner you're using, etc. So... is this using an antenna and an ATSC tuner, or is this cable TV using an NTSC, QAM, or CableCARD tuner? Does the same problem happen on every channel?

You might be better served if you post your question (with more details than you posted here) over at TheGreenButton.

Hi there
Could also be some type of DRM protection on the LIVE stream but is OK for download / record and play later. Have you got the latest version of software for your TV tuner card.

(IMO these days tuner cards are rather "Dinosaur technology" as you will probably get better reception (and in full HD too) by using a "Smart TV Monitor" for TV reception or even stream directly from the Internet - most places have fast enough broadband for these types of services to be viewed directly on a computer).

For example I get SKY TV on my compter (SKY GO) directly from the internet - other services are things like NETFLIX, HULA TV etc etc. All these types of services also have on demand type of possibilities where you can download and watch later, also they have "Catch up" services where you can watch a missed program for in some cases up to 30 days after it was aired - usually though 7 - 10 days.

There really isn't any point these days in using a tuner card any more - especially with HD TV and all digital TV.

Here's an example of watching "The Mummy's Return" from sky go -- you can watch in popout window or full screen - great if using multiple monitors too.

Cheers
