Can you hook up two separate vga's cables to two monitors?

I have two VGA Cables and i was thinking if i could plug them both into my tower then link them one to my TV then my other to my desktop? is this possible?

Why do I suspect OP is taking one from his on-board VGA and one from his video card?

You need 2 ports from the video card to pull this off with female VGA on the other end of the 2 cables to match the VGA male ports on the monitor/TVs, or VGA adapters. [This assumes the video card even supports multiple monitors]

No specs though to give complete answer.

2 VGA ports is non-existent on modern video cards.

Techie name is D-SUB for the VGA, if you go searching for a 2 VGA card on say newegg you want to check for 2 x D-SUB in the search.
