I have installed the latest Samsung USB drivers (1.5.65.0) and I have tried previous versions but I cannot get my phone to show up in Win7 File Explorer or My Computer.

I have enabled Developer support and USB Debugging on the phone and it is set for MTP. The phone is visible in Printers and Devices. The phone is visible in the Device Manager and it shows as working properly.

The AutoPlay dialog even pops up when I connect the phone but nothing happens when I click on "Open device to view files".

I get the same results on two different PC's and with a Galaxy S5 which is what was connected when I took the screenshots.

Tried different cables and different ports. The Samsung Mobile Connectivity Service is running.

Finally, I ran sfc /runnow. When the run finished, it said some issues could not be corrected. Below is a relevant excerpt from C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

The log file contains thousands of lines but basically two DLL's could not be replaced by SFC. They are: wmploc.DLL and wpdshext.dll

I'm guessing this is caused by MS Updates being installed out of order. Possibly due to slipstreamed DVD install media???

Anyway, does anyone know how to fix this?

So I tried doing the Upgrade/Repair install of Win7 and it caused nothing but problems with many of my programs and there were other issues as well. I spent all day trying to fix the issues that the upgrade caused but some issues could not be fixed. I even tried using Revo Uninstaller to uninstall a couple of apps, then reinstalled them. They still wouldn't run. Definitely not a viable solution.

I restored an image so I'm back to square one.

Can someone please tell me how I can replace those two files that SFC is not able to replace. I even tried SFCFix but that also could not repair them.

I followed the instructions (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...rrupted-system) and manually replaced wmploc.DLL and wpdshext.dll with files from another Win7 PC. I replaced those files in the System32 and SysWOW64 folders. This did fix the original issue of not being able to access portable devices but I still get the same errors when I run sfc /scannow.

How can I fix this?

Thanks for the reply but as I stated in post 4, I already tried the Repair/Upgrade install. After doing so, some programs would not run even after uninstalling/reinstalling them. So performing the Repair/Upgrade install caused more problems that could not be fixed.
