I used to be able to burn CDs from both Windows Media Player and ITunes.
In WMP, it now tells me to "install a burner", as if it's not there.
How can I reinstall the burner I had?
One piece of info: I installed windows 10, but found a lot of quirkiness, so went back to Windows 7. I don't know if that could make my burner disappear.
Any help would really be appreciated!
Thanks! :)

In device manager, under computer, it reveals: ACPI x64-based PC.
Is this my burner? I'm sorry, I'm lo-tech. :)
When I run a driver update, it says it is working.

I downloaded BurnAware and selected audio CD and the result is below:

"Unable to detect recorders.(error 452)".

I'm not sure if I'm using BurnAware correctly. Is there another selection I should use in the program?

So either the burner needs drivers the cable is dead or the burner is faulty. Does it read cd/dvd?

Go to the Device Manager and display the optical drive(s). Do you see any error code, such as Code 19?

Your burner may not be damaged somehow.
You may need to get an external DVD-writer.

This is quite common, as my Sister PC burner did damaged &or not working.
So she use a external DVD-RW.
The PC is less than 2 years.

No error code. I tried burning a CD from WMP once more. It displays: Cannot burn requested songs. The burner may be busy or needs to be updated.:(
