Cannot detect wireless networks

I've been searching through some threads but I can't seem to find the answer to my problem.. Or I'm just dense.

I just downloaded Windows 7 and I can connect to the internet with my ethernet cord but not using wireless. Before I downloaded 7 I could connect easily with Vista and had no problem detecting wireless networks..

Hi apryl,

Did you also upgrade to Windows 7? Did you install the correct drivers for your Wi-Fi Adapter?
I am having the same problem. Can anyone help me figure this out?
Please provide an ipconfig /all of your computer for review:
Click on Start => in run or search box type cmd press enter (run as Admin). From the black screen, type the word ipconfig /all and press enter. Right click on the black screen or Command prompt then choose Select All and Paste the results here.

Can you help us make sense of why I can't see my router which is directly connedt to my LAN desktop. Also when I attemp to "Setup a new connection or network" I am missing the 'Manual setup feature' option as well. I believe all of this is somehow tied in together. Your thoughts and ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance . . .

I would assume that this is a wired connection issue. ipconfig /all output came out good.

Have you tried to Power cycle. See if you can browse after.

Can you connect a diff computer and see if you can replicate the issue?

May I ask what you meant by you can't see your router? Were you trying to connect to it thru your web browser and access the Control Panel?

Thanks 2xg. When I choose 'Setup a new network' option in "Setup a new connection or network" --> "Setup a network Choose the wireless router or access point you want to configure", there is no discovery of my broadband device to choose from. :(

I am also missing the option 'Manually connect to a wireless network' option.

ANS: Yes, I have unplugged and replugged all connector several times.

ANS: No the additional Vista Home Premium SP1 laptop does not have this problem. This machine happens to be my wireless connection to my existing network.

Side Note: I am trying to use the setup so that I can carry all of the necessary hardwired printer information to the laptop because I am having a problem with printing tho my wired desktop attached printer.

Thanks for all of your help . . . .
