First off, Hi all
ok, i have windows 7, and command promt is not in accessories > command promt, BUT when i type in command promt in search it comes up, then when i type in sfc /scannow, nothing happen, it just goes back to c:/, actually, i have tried several command, copy, move, sort, etc, nothing happens, no message showing me that i typed the command wrong, or i need to add another attribute to it.

SO then i thought i need to run it as admin, so i went to c:/windows/system32/, but there is no cmd.exe there:mad:, i only found COMMAND.COM, when i left click, it opens command promt, but still cant enter no commands, and when i right click, run as admin option isnt there, please help i need to run sfc /scannow.

my computer recently had a virus(now deleted, using bitdefender, malwarebytes, and verified with spybot), but it messed up my SOUND. I have no sound in my computer after the virus, so i want to make sure all my windows file are still there, please help, BTW, everything else is fine, just no sound.

You need to Run as Administrator.

Type CMD in Start search box.

Rightclick on Result, click Run as Administrator.

then type "sfc /scannow" without the quotes. Include the space.

Hope it helps.

Is cmd.exe available in the following location?

C:\Windows\System32

If yes, right click on it, run as administrator and then try sfc /scannow

As well as, you can pin cmd.exe to start or taskbar and check if it works.

Your system looks screwed up. Try a system restore.

If you dont have a suitable restore point, boot into the Advanced Boot menu by tapping F8 at startup, then navigate through to Repair your computer-system recovery options-command prompt. Try running sfc from there.

If that too doesnt work, other options can be discussed.
