Solved Cannot install IE9 32bit on 64bit W7 OS! Really need help after virus!

So I removed a virus infection in ie9 32 bit by replacing the whole internet explorer folder from program files (x86) with the internet explorer folder from the 64 bit program files.
Now I need to compile projects in Visual Studio , the program needs the 32 bit version of ieproxy.dll but when I add the 32bit backed up version I cannot browse the internet, IE won't even startup at all! So I replaced it back, I don't have a system restore point from before the 'shit'. Also using 'turn windows features on or off' doesn't seem to fix my browser problem, it remains 64bit.

I have downloaded the 32bit installer but it says the 64bit OS is not supported! What the Heck? ! So I extracted the contents of the package with Universal Extractor but it's a huge mess.. I don't know what to copy and paste etc.. about a few hundred thousanmd dll inf and exe files just to install ie9 32bit?

Also I did run "sfc /scannow" to remove the virus from my computer, but IE9 32 bit still remained infected! conclusion: sfc does not repair IE.
addition : I also ran sfc /scannow to remove the virus from my system but IE9 remained affected, that is why I did the above steps!

Please help me out, can somebody upload their %program files (x86)%/Internet Explorer/ directory, please? (internet explorer 9 ofcourse).

For 64-bit systems, you need to download and install the 64-bit version of IE9. The 64-bit version also includes the 32-bit edition, and both will be installed.

Run System Restore to go back before you "fixed" the virus, even if the virus comes back. Then use MalwareByte's Anti-Malware to remove it.

Impossible after upgrade to SP1.

Are you saying System Restore doesn't work? Or that you installed SP1 after you "fixed" IE?

installed SP1 after I have fixed the problem, firing up VS2010 after a looong time , open project, compile, CRASH, googling -> problem is wrong ieproxy.dll.
replace ieproxy.dll with 32bit backup VS works, - I cannot use the internet browser, Leave it as it is - I cannot develop any applications. ;( please upload nayone his/her copy of ie932bit .

Install SP1 again manually. It replaces just about everything anyway. Short of that, you're going to need to wipe and reload. You can just plop and drop folders and dlls like that.

SP1 does not affect your browser... If you have ie8 you will have ie8 after sp1 upgrade.

edit: Also, I did not do SP1 via Windows Update but just download (~900mb) & install.

How would I do that without any install disc / recovery HDD?

Why can't just anybody upload his IE9 32bti files so I can replace mine with theirs ?

I doubt very seriously that would help your problem even if someone was willing to do it.

If I understand you correctly, you removed the 32 bit ie from program filesx86 and replaced it wit the 64bit program in program files x86. The 64 bit windows 7 runs both 64 bit programs and 32 bit programs. The 64 bit programs are put in Program files. The 32 bit programs are put in program files x86. You can't put a 64bit program in the x86 program files. If you have another broeser, uninstall ie and reinstall it, so that it will install properly. Before that, I would suggest you follow the advice to download and run a complete scan with malwarebytes.

I did use malwarebytes and it does not detect anything in IE , or REGSVR32 (which was used as a refference FROM IEXPLORE EXE to register a harmfull DLL t every start of iexplore). About uninstalling and installing IE9 , there is no IE9 option to uninstall it,
just take a look in Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features , you will see it cannot be done, somebody has to upload the 32b files for me OR I am doomed to have a painfull process...

The IE9 Update will be listed under Installed Updates. Start>All programs>Windows update.

Now i uninstalled ie9, i had ie8, downloaded ie9 and installed it, now all my explorer opens ALL FOLDERS in new windows!! and I Cannot run the 64 bit ie9 anymore after several restarts! <crying>
Help me.. again. ehh. I knew if somebody gave me his 32bit files it would be easier! Now I only have additional problems

And ALL my downloads are redirected to orbit downloader, first they didn't! (I want just to use IE downloader)

I knew what I wanted and how to fix it but no-one would give me hes explorer files!!!!!!!!!

Now I have even a bigger problem than when I posted this topic!

But erm.. VS works . yes the 32bit is doing it .. Anyway I want to fix the rest of the problems <crying>

what does in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell
the 'EditFlags' (binary) mean?

also when I right click any folder in a folder then 'open' is bold and when I click it it opens normally... :S

What is VS and why do you want to run IE9 64bit? Since you have been "fixing" the registry and have placed .exe files in the wrong folders, you may well be looking at a Repair Install.

As far as I'm aware there is no IE9 32bit .exe installer to upload.

IE64 bit - testing purposes and faster stratup time (but 4x slower browsing than with 32bit ie9)

All my downloads go through Orbit down loader,(post #17). To me that is a scary thing. I'm glad that grasmanek94got it fixed. I'm still completely confused at the steps grasmanek94 used.
