Hey all, sometimes my touchpad will not let me left click at all. I can move the cursor and right click though. Connecting an external usb mouse does not help the issue, but a reboot fixes the problem. Think its a driver issue, using Synaptics PS/2 port touch pad, and its up to date. Any ideas? Laptop is a samsung qx411

Did the problem surface after updating any drivers ?

Sometimes windows updates or intel updates alter the way some software/hardware interacts especially some OEM softwares( if so uninstall or remove any such update)

If this is the case then you first have to locate the update which is causing the unnatural behaviour of your touchpad and then uninstall it.

And sometimes this can be a defective touchpad.

To determine whether it is a problem that only happens in Windows you can download a copy of Linux Ubuntu and save it to a USB stick. Then run Ubuntu from the stick (you don't need to install it).

If you experience the same problem under a different operating system and it's different drivers, then you will know that it is a hardware problem.
