Solved Cannot locate ethernet driver for an amd chipset

recently i wiped my girl friends toshiba laptop and after i finished installing windows 7 64x professional i went to go do the windows up date and could not conect so thinking the wireless driver was not installed yet i tried to bridge the connection between mine and hers and it still didnt work so i went into her device manager and noticed the ethernet controller and network controller were not installed so i tried to locate the drivers on my laptop to put on hers but i was unable to find the driver for an AMD chipset only the intel chipset. if anybody has these drivers or can find a link for them that would be greatly apreciated

it's difficult to find the drivers without knowing the model name/number of laptop

i have the model and name its a satellite C655D-S5303 and ive tried to search on the toshiba web site with no luck, maybe im looking in the wrong spot

That driver won't be part of the chipset.

Seeing as Toshiba hasn't put up anything for that particular model oing to take a stab here a say that it likely has either Atheros or realtek for both the LAN and Wi-Fi, after looking at what is available for the two models immediately above and below it (C655D-S5301 and C655D-S5305). Both models list the same Atheros LAN driver, as well as both the same Atheros and Realtek wireless driver. Give one of them a try and see if it is the right one.

Your friend should have recovery discs. Use them to recover the operating system.

Thank you stormy that did the thrick just used the model number appove and it worked now i can finaly finsh windows updates
