Cannot reconnect automatically to home network

Hi

For the past week or so, I have been experiencing a problem with the connection to my home network.

I connect wirelessly - it has worked without fault since I set it up in January (no problem with signal strength), but now frequently loses the connection. I have checked the configuration for the connection, and it is set to autoconnect.

It will autoconnect after boot up, and after wake up, but not after it has lost the connection.

When I re-connect manually, it connects straight away, and is then fine, until it drops the connection again.

Is there likely to be something in one of the system logs that will tell me what is happening?

The router is a BT Hub-5, and my network adaptor is a TP-Link TP_WN751ND 150 Mbps Wireless N adaptor. My PC is a Dell Inspiron 530, OS is Win7 Ultimate 32-bit, and browser is FireFox 38.0.5

I have just downloaded and re-installed the adaptor driver, as well.

TIA

You can try: Check power saving feature of adapter in Device Management and disable it.
Reset the router. Unplug power, wait 10 seconds, re-plug.
Factory Reset the router.

Power saving is not enabled. Problem continues after resetting router.

Try:
Loading BIOS defaults.
Scan with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool Download
Scan registry with CCleaner.
Run cmd: netsh winsock reset
System Restore to a date prior to the issue

Thanks for replying.

How do I load BIOS defaults?

CCleaner runs weekly and was last run on Monday.
netsh winsock reset now.
I am relunctant, at this time, to run System Restore as the list of affected programs is long, and will require a lot of time to recover from (i'm a bit short on time at the moment).
Scanned with FRST now.

Press the appropriate key (it will tell in first screen when you power the PC, may word it as Setup), sometimes it is in the main menu of BIOS, sometimes in Exit menu.

After reset, you may need to reconfigure stuff like Boot Order and SATA Operation Mode if you have changed them when you first setup your computer.

Do you have any special software from Dell installed that may be interfering?

You can check Event Viewer for possible causes, when it happens run eventvwr.msc and check Application and System categories. Is this happening at a certain interval or random?

I wonder if a clean re-install of the driver will help.

Edit: Also check Event Viewer for:
Microsoft - Windows -
--- Dhcp Client - DHCP Client Events/Admin for errors/warnings.
--- Network Profile - Operational
