Solved cannot remove automaticdestinations folder from desktop

hi, i have two folders on my desktop which can't be removed .one is the automaticdestinations folder other is the customdestinations folder on my desktop. i know it has something to do with the jumplists in win7 but don't know how to get rid of it.also all my recently opened files keep popping up on my desktop. . any help will be deeply appreciated.

These folders are normal but you shouldn't be seeing them, especially not on the desktop.
Have they been there since the computer was formatted? or did they appear later, possibly after installing a piece of software?

It would seem your 'jump list' has issues.
Sadly this is not something I have a lot of information on hand about.
While I'm quite certain the solution involves the .

If you find this folder
%appdata%\microsoft\windows\recent\automaticdestinations

and open the *.automaticdestinations-ms files with notepad you should be able to at least identify the program responsible.

yes this happened after installing a mini theme(which i have removed now) . . and yes i have tried the %appdata%\microsoft\windows\recent\automaticdestinations method . . problem is there is no recent folder in that location or any other location. .
