Hi, I recently ran sfc just to see if there's something wrong with my 4 years old Compaq Presario CQ40 laptop.

And apparently my 'explorer.exe' is broken??

Should I keep running sfc till it eventually fix it or should I do it manually?

*I uploaded the sfcdetails.txt

Welcome to Seven Forums Noobs. Are you experiencing issues with explorer? Often if you have customized your system, it will result in a changed explorer.exe. usually SFC will replace it with the original if you run it. Your report seems to be saying the hash of the explorer in your store is incorrect. This may be the result of installing sp1. It's also likely the explorer.exe on your installation dvd is not sp1 unless you installed sp1 from the start, and didn't upgrade to it later.

You can certainly run SFC a couple more times to see if it fixes it, but if you are not experiencing any explorer related issues, I wouldn't worry about it now. A Guy

I rarely or even close to never have any issue with explorer.exe
Since it's not a big deal, I'd guess best to ignore it.
I'm just easily paranoid with these Windows errors.

No worries, usually the SFC would just replace the file with the one from the store, but it's saying the hash is wrong, so it won't. If need be, I'm sure you could find the correct explorer.exe to replace yours. A Guy
