I have 20 PCs in a building complex. Some are running windows 7 and some windows xp. One PC which is running windows 7 cannot detect any of the pcs running windows xp, but can see the pcs running windows 7. The opther windows 7 PCs do not have this problem. There doesn't seem to be anything obviously different between them. does anybody have any suggestions ?

1. Make sure network discovery and file sharing are turned on in Windows 7, and turn off Homegroups.
2. Make sure firewalls on both machines allow file sharing.
3. Update the network card drivers to their latest versions.
4. Make sure all machines on the network are in the same workgroup.
- Try changing the workgroups to something else, then changing them back.
5. Turn on NetBIOS over TCP/IP in the IPv4 settings for the network adapter.

Can the windows 7 PC ping any of the XP machines?.

Work through what Parman has suggested, He seems to beat me to all the threads tonight.
