Very strange problem happened after I reinstalled Windows 7.

My computer boots and runs fine, no issues. Whenever I turn it on from cold or restart, the screen is off up until Windows starts loading.

If I keep pressing DEL during boot, the BIOS comes up on the screen. Exit the BIOS and same, nothing on the screen until windows is loading.

I have one PCI-E graphics card going to one monitor, and I tried changing in the BIOS PEG and PCI for the graphics card but with no luck.

Any idea what is causing this?

Do I understand this right - you are not getting a BIOS splash screen. And when you press DEL, do you get the BIOS setup or the splash screen.

I get the bios setup. Apart from that, the screen will stay off until windows has loaded

So it is a BIOS problem. Is there a BIOS firmware update for your board - maybe you should flash that.

I was already running the latest BIOS. I downgraded it and then upgraded it again but either one did not work

That leaves some BIOS setting which is not right.

I think that's an option on some motherboards. To the splash screen on/off.

My motherboard has the option to "Show Logo on boot" or something like that instead of the POST. That is turned off but nothing shows. I can try switching it to see

One thing I noticed when updating the BIOS is that the screen is slow to switch on. I press DEL to enter the BOIS and then I have to wait 10 seconds or so before the screen will come on.

I've even pulled the battery out and reset the BIOS but still no screen on POST

When I went back and forth between FW versions, all the BIOS settings were reset. I changed some settings but did not find anything. Seems like nothing will make the screen turn on during POST

Also noticed that when I log off my User Profile, the screen turns off for 10 seconds or so before I can see the different profiles again.

Everything else is working fine apart from switching profiles and bootup. Strange, my motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3if that helps.
