Solved Canonscan LIDE 80 64 bit driver

Hi - does anyone have any leads for getting a driver for my new Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit installation? I was able to find a 32 bit driver here
LiDE 80 Scanner Driver Ver. 7.2.5.0a_xp (Windows 7/Vista32/XP/2000) but there is no mention of a 64 bit driver.

Canon never released any 64 bit drivers for the LiDE scanners.

There is no x64 driver for lide 80.
Try Win7/Vista x64 driver and Toolbox software 4.9 from Lide 60. It should work.

I've tried the Lide 60 drivers. They don't install. Anyone know of a way to manually install them? This is sadly proff positive that the Windows OS is not terribly artist-friendly...

Nope. Makes me think twice about buying any further Canon PC equipment.

Sorry just spent a half hour looking and no 64 bit drivers. Or work around. You could install if you were running a 32bit system but it looks like your out of luck.

Besides have you read their disclaimer for any drivers, software you download anyways? Personally I would look for a more user firendly company.

Well i installed printer on virtual machine with win 32. But yes, such support sux, they could at least hide their gold of earning money whatever it costs...

It is interesting that my Canon Lide 25 have a 64bit driver for 7 and this one doesn't. You can use Vuescan to use your scanner - did the trick for my older one - Lide 20 (without ANY drivers).

I am using XP Mode to drive my Lide80, with excellent results.

Many thanks to Microsoft, excellent stuff and so much easier to use than other VM's as for Canon, I will never buy another piece of ANYTHING from them, they let me down with the Multipass C30, no XP Drivers because Canon took exception with MS wanting to approve drivers, another "I don't care about the customer" decision.

Easiest solution which no one has stated yet is to download the LIDE 70 drivers, and the lide 70 canoscan toolbox software, install both and have your lide 80 connected. You can then run vuescan and it will recognise the lide 80 as being attached and use the lide 70 drivers to work.

Yes no one did mention that, simply because it doesn't work and no need to waste time of others with false solutions.

Thank you Bluesky for your comment, however if it didn't work I wouldn't have posted my comment and been using my scanner this way until 29th July when I moved to 10 and lost this ability. I had previously ran my Lide60 in this way, and 7 happily continued in the same mode when I swapped it out for the 80 when the 60 packed in completely.
