Solved Canoscan Win 7 driver

ou1954: You might try the Vista driver for canoscan d1230uf. Differnet model, different OS, sure

Scanners can be Twain driven or the mfgr might supply a front end in a driver.

Give it a shot. On the canon driver page, pick Vista or Vista 64 as the OS.

Using the scanner, if the driver works, might be a little different than what you're used to seeing.
The functionality of the scanner might be limited only to apps that can access the Twain driver (if that is the case). Most graphic image editing (Paint) can access the twain driver.

Driver for CanoScan D1230U

I still have a functional system on an old XP machine, runs slowly and inconvenient to bring into the place where I now have the scanner.

I wonder whether I can copy everything from the XP machine to the widows 7 machine and then run the exe program and have a functional system. I know from prior updates on other systems here that everything that ran on Windows 7 ran on Windows 10 after the upgrade so I may add the driver system, see if it works, and then upgrade this machine to Win 10.

I had long ago lost the CD and the version running on my XP laptop was downl0aded from Cannon Europe which no longer lists my scanner. The Canoscan D1230U is super for slides, transparencies (35mm and 2 1/4), and thick books, etc. I don't find a reasonably priced scanner to replace the 1230 that comes close to doing everything it does.

Thanks for any comments
