I've just done a clean installation of Windows 7 ultimate 32bit and everything seems to be working fine except I can't access one of the partitions on my HDD. It's split into C, D and E, I can access C and D but when I try to open E it says "E:\ is not accessible. Access denied.". It doesn't even show free space or anything. Oddly, everything seems to be fine in disk management, it says healthy and it shows the capacity and free space. I've also tried booting Ubuntu from CD and it's working there too. I have some important files there and I don't want to format. Help please !

PS: I've already tried the security thing, I'm admin and owner but it still doesnt work.

Hello and welcome to SevenForums.

First try to format this E partition. Go to Computer, Right Click on E and Format.

After this you can try to scan your computer for virus or malware.
I can recommend MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

Post results here and good luck.

Trinty.

Like I said, I don't want to format because I have important files in there. I'm going to scan for malware to see if it will fix it. If it doesn't, I'm going to boot linux or something to move the files to other partition and then format. Thanks for reply.
