Can't Access Other Win7 PC on LAN

I have two computers connected wirelessly to my home network. I want to be able to "see" the other hard drive from whichever one I'm on. I've followed all the forum advice I can find re advanced sharing, permissions, not using Homegroup, etc.
Using Explorer, I can see the other computer under the network icon. I can even expand and see the C drive but when I click on the drive icon, I get "Windows cannot access \\Eileen-laptop\\c" followed by "You do not have permission to access \\Eileen-laptop\\c ...".
On Eileen-laptop, following the sharing context link to Advanced sharing, I've granted permissions "Everyone" with Full control, Change and Read.
Help...

Try it this way: \\Eileen-laptop\c$

Then you will have to use the administrator account credentials to see the drive.

Yes, but you just have to enter it anyway for the machine you are connecting to. Click the remember password to not have to enter it again.

It's a big security risk to share an entire drive which is one of the reasons it's not easy to accomplish. You would be better off just sharing the User folder instead.

But if you insist on sharing the entire drive there is a way to do that also.

Open My Computer -> right click Local Disk D -> select Properties -> select Security tab -> click Edit button -> click Add button -> enter the name of the User you want to set Security permissions (it is the same user name you've set the sharing permissions for, ex. Everyone will set the read permissions to every user which will attempt to connect to your shared drive) -> click OK -> select the desired permissions -> click OK -> wait while permissions are set -> and your Done.

It can also be done by going to C drive, then "share with" click the Sharing tab then choose the "Advanced sharing tab" click the empty box to "share this folder" then hit the apply button. Then choose the permissions tab and give full control to "everyone" and hit apply again.

It's not a good idea from a security stand point to share an entire drive but as long as your happy gmosley I'll mark this as solved.
