Can't add a partition primary

After having an error: error reading disk... I inserted windows 7 installation dvd and cleaned the disk 0 and now i am trying to reinstall the windows 7 but i can't.i want to add a new partition primary but I receive this message : virtual disk services error: the system's information about the object may not be up to date."
P.s: when i click on install amd then custom omly disk0 u allocated space with free size 298.1gb and type -


So what should i do?? Is my hard drive broken?

Clean disk 0 and now when i list the disks: disk 0 292gb free
List partition: there's no partitions!!

I'm surprised Windows install does not help with creating partition and then formatting said partition. We await the gurus.

Going on the reference to clean and list partition I am assuming you ran diskpart.
If this is the case then the clean command will erase all partitions on the disk and leave you with all unallocated space

If you are reinstalling windows then the installer will create a partition for you as part of the install process when you select the disk to be used

If problems with disk continue then run the maker's HD Diagnostic extended CD scan, followed by a full Disk Check from the installer's Command line in System Recovery Options

When i try to test the hdd from the bios the test failed but it passed the memory test so the hdd should be changed or if i use the
MiniTool Partition Wizard Bootable 9

The problem will be fixed??

How did you test the hard drive from the bios ?

Diskpart is giving you trouble setting up the disk, you can always try the Bootable Partition Wizard CD to see if it will allow you to delete/setup a new primary partition, format, align and mark active.

I don`t understand what`s wrong with Diskpart, it`s telling you you have 298 GB of free space to work with.

But who knows, the disk could be shot.

How old is it, they have warranties.


Also, you typed list partition on Disk 0 before you typed create partition primary with Diskaprt and the Diskpart service became corrupted.

Did you attempt to run Diskpart again by re booting the install disc and starting over ?

Is this an EFI BIOS? Look in BIOS setup for specific settings for UEFI, EFI, CSM, Legacy BIOS, Secure Boot and BIOS Boot Priority order. If an EFI BIOS then the disk must be booted as a UEFI device.

What test did the hard drive fail? If the manufacturer's HD Diagnostic extended CD scan is repeatedly failed, then replace the hard drive.

If you want to format with diskpart

1) All Programs
2) Accesories
3) Right click cmd prompt
4) Run as Administrator
5) Run the program to make System 32 cmd appear
6) type "diskpart"
7) on Diskpart cmd type "list disk"
8) type "select disk 1" (if that is what you want to format)
9) type "clean"
10) type "create partition primary"
11) type "select partition 1"
12) type "active"
13) type "format quick fs=ntfs

If you believe your disk has many bad sectors do a full format:
13a) type "format fs=ntfs

If the system stops the sequence you can type format X: fs=ntfs (for a full format, which repairs bad sectors which a quick format does not) It may take 4 or 5 hours to do a full format depending on disk size

Quickest way is to go to the Device Manager

Start
Right click Computer (or the PC desktop icon)
Choose "Manage"
Device Manager shows up
Double click Disk Management (under Storage)
All your disks will be shown
Right click the one you want to format
Choose Format
A Format window appears
Quick format is selected by default
If you believe the disk is corrupted, uncheck the Quick
