Hi everyone,

Firstly just wanna say thanks heaps to all the brainy people from this forum. Helped me time and time again and appreciate it heaps ;)

Ok, so i'll quickly explain how it got to be this way to begin with and apologies for the long post.
Basically, recently i was looking in disk management and noticed my system drive was not set as active so i right clicked and set it as active.
After rebooting i got the "bootmgr is missing" msg so i popped in my win 7 disk and repaired it. Note.. the only way it worked was if i unplugged my other drives.

So i check back in explorer and notice that the system reserved 100mg partition is now D drive instead of F which is what it was before and my other hard drives are now different letters.

This completely screwed me up because my main data drive used to use the letter D and i had options in programs, shortcuts and other stuff pointing to folders in D:\*.
What stuffed up the most was my normal user folders. My documents... My Music... etc.
Originally, after first installing OS i had changed location of c:\users\tom\my documents to d:\my documents and did the same to links, favorites, my music etc.
I figured i could just go in to c:\users\tom\ and do it again, ie change the locations to E:\ ... where they are now but all that was there was the my documents and my music which was strange so i changed those only.

So anyhow, now that all my user data folders are using E:\... it for some reason doesn't wanna allow me to drag anything to the favorites menu. When i drag something there all it does is show that error circle (you know the red circle with the line thought it).

I know i could have just changed the drive letters back to how they used to be but i really didn't wanna play around with the system reserved drive and figured this is how it should have been in the first place.

Anyhow.. anyone know what could be causing this. Very frustrating to have to go through heaps of folders to get to what i want instead of pinning under favorites menu.

Thanks

I got it working...

After reading that tutorial you posted i thought i'd try actually creating the C:\Users\(user-name)\Links folder since it wasn't there and now i can add shortcuts.

Thanks heaps Jacee ;)
