Can't adjust laptop brightness after a system restore

Hi guys, this is my first post, sorry if it's not quite in the right area...

I recently had my HP ProBook 4545s totally restored and had the original harddrive swapped out for a PNY 250GB SSD. I can't find any interfaces to adjust the screen brightness, which is too dim, the fn brightness controls aren't working, and in general the contrast and displays look bad as well.

I tried refreshing and updating the General pnp Monitor driver, but this did not work. Do I need a new driver? Does someone know another way? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome for starters you said restored just what does that mean? is a factory restore or have you dropped in a SSD and installed an OEM onto it or you have cloned the original drive to the SSD?
