Solved Can't adjust screen brightness in Dell Lattitude 6420 windows 7 x64

Anyone got any ideas for how I could adjust down the brightness level on my machine?

Check which display driver you are using in Device Manager. If Windows cannot find an appropriate driver it will fall back to the generic 'Standard VGA Graphics Adapter'. This is a basic driver that does not support adjusting the brightness.

I figured out my problem ans it had nothing to do with my windows(7) version. It had to do with my Dell computer and the adjustment I made on my computer, so thanks, all :)
