Since my return from near non-existence, my parents bought another router to (extend/repeat the wireless signal).

Here is what I have and what I've done so far...

D-Link DIR-655 Xtreme N Gigabit Router (updated firmware version: 1.34NA 2010-04-16)

and

D-Link DAP-1360 Wireless N Range Extender (firmware Version: V1.02 2009-10-09)

used WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) was added successfully, but the issue is I cannot seem to copy the mac address from the DIR-655 to the DAP-1360, so when you seek a wireless connection in my household, you see 2 different wireless signals, when all I should see is one (very strong) wireless connection.:o

I used the same SSID name, channel, and encrypted with WPA2-Personal synced 100% clock and all, except the mac address is different.

I have searched high and low for an answer and if anyone here can help me, I would be truly grateful.
Thank you in advance.

Ps- I can post screen shots if requested.

Does the extender have a setting to "Bridge" the two devices?

Cheers!

It's set as a repeater on the DAP-1360, and I can't recall if there's an option to bridge both routers.
I will take a look, thank u Robert:)

If it is possible to connect the DAP-1360 via cable and still give your property adequate wireless coverage, you will get better performance. A repeating 'access point' reduces your bandwidth by half (or something like that) because it first must receive the signal, then rebroadcast the signal. It cannot do that simultaneously. When connected by cable, it only has to broadcast.

Manual Configuration Settings starts on page 43 of the pdf manual for "Repeater Mode".

Cheers!

I would have to connect the DAP-1360 via Ethernet cable, then bridge the connection, whether that would help I don't know yet, will post back at a later time.
Thanx again:)

You are most welcome, my friend!

I am reminded of the movie Matrix and telling Neo his muscles has atrophied. He just needed to use them again. Me ... it takes hours every morning before my brain recovers enough to be useful ... so the more you use your brain ... the better it will get!!

Cheers!

Please tell me how you did it - I have exactly the same setup and although I can get my 1360 to act as repeater it causes me to not being able to see the original DIR655 any more.
