Hi. I'm using Windows 7, Netgear WG311v3 wireless pci card and Netgear DG834G Wireless Router. The symptoms are:
  • If I reboot the router I can connect to network for some random time, but then connection drops: "Unidentifyed Network"
  • If I try to reconnect it fails
What I've tried to do:
  • Reboot
  • Disable firewall
  • Reinstall wireless card drivers
  • Reset winsock catalog (through command schell)
  • Use static IP adress
  • Leave homegroup
  • Disable IPv6
My Macbook has no such problems so I think it's not the router issue.
Please, help me :( I'm trying to solve this probplem for almost 4 days...

Download the free version (trial) of Network Magic. Install the program and let it do its thing. It's an excellent program and quite frequently will identify the problems and correct them wherever possible. It's owned by Cisco and is very safe.
Thank you for downloading Network Magic

Yes, of course it's turned on ) And the issue is on the desktop, not the laptop.

I've recently tried Network Magic. It didn't help me at all. Unfourtunatly troubleshooting in this program is nothing special, just a set of tips like "reboot router" and etc. :(

When all else fails, try a different Wireless card.

Huh, thanks, but no :). I think i have found the solution. I've upgraded my router firmware and then got a connection without internet. Then looked into ipconfig and realized that ip adress is autogenerated by OS. Perhaps it's DHCP problem. The temporary solution is to set a static IP in IPv4 settings. Unfourtunatly I haven't found out how to make DHCP work... (
If anyone already experienced that kind of a problem than please help me :).
