Cant connect to Secure/HTTPS websites

So ive been having this problem for about a week now.

I cannot connect to google websites, facebook, email websites. Ive come to the conclusion that its only secure websites as websites like reddit and msn.com work.

Ive tried alot of solutions that have worked for other people from around the web and so far nothing has worked.

These problems happen in IE and Chrome but NOT Firefox.

I dont have an AntiVirus or a Firewall installed, windows firewall is disabled.

Ive Tried:
Checking Use SSL 2.0/3.0
Clearing SSL State
Restarting Computer
Uninstalling browsers
Clearing temporary internet files
Disabling protected mode (Internet Options)
Among various other solutions ive seen around

So does anyone have any idea of what it could be?

Hello mouse now I don't know your reason for not having any AV on board there are plenty of free ones and my philosophy is having one is way better than none at all. I run Kaspersky paid for with add on - on call scanners.

Personally if I were you I would at least run these

download from bleeping computer – delete any rubbishthese find.

If you feel inclined to have an AV on board take a look at this list

page 2 and I would at least have Windows defender running as well as the firewall - call it paranoia if you will but there are plenty of idiots out there who can and will take advantage of you.
The SueprAntiSpyware I linked is good at rooting out site that keep tabs on you for example.

I uninstalled my AV to try and fix my problem..

Just what was that AV mouse and if I were you I would get one back on board - something is better than nothing. The free Avast Avira or Bitdefender are all good.

An observation

Uncheck SSL v3 - it's not secure. Have you checked your system clock?

Accurate Time

If it's badly out of sync it could possibly cause the problem.

Time is correct, date is correct. i have tried SSL v3 unchecked

Thinking im just gonna reinstall windows

Something to try

Well before you reinstall windows maybe try this.

First create a system restore point then have a go at steps 6 & 7 in the tutorial here (ignore the rest of it)

Well if you are going to reinstall after what Callender has suggested then use this http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html#post1839164 as you will get the latest and freshest version of Windows (less updates normally) and for those with factory made machines it contains no bloatware. But you MUST only pick the version you originally installed with the code you have as trying to a higher version will end in grief. see pic and it can be on a dsik or stick Iprefer disk myself but the choice is yours.

I had the same problem in XP once, and I was told to do the things below. I don't know for sure if this will work in win7

Try this, open a command prompt
At the command prompt, type the following lines and press ENTER after each line:
regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
regsvr32 initpki.dll
regsvr32 dssenh.dll
regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 sccbase.dll
regsvr32 slbcsp.dll
regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll

Click OK when you receive the message that DllRegisterServer in FileName succeeded.
Type exit to quit Command Prompt

Bumping again since the problem has resurfaced.

What i was doing before was system restoring every time the problem came up again, but apparently i no longer have the system restore point

Cant use any HTTPS websites or any software that connects to HTTPS.

Everything works fine in firefox for some reason

Ive tried everything previously mentioned in this thread. None of which has worked.

In IE do you have TLS checked?

I only had TLS 1.0 checked

However after checking TLS 1.1 and 1.2 it made no difference.

and unchecking all 3 made no difference either.

Hmm BG mate might be worth running this Download Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10 for starters as it will scan the machine before Windows sets up and doesn't involve it let us know how it goes.
