My comcast cable modem went kaput a few days ago. I bought a new motorola surf modem. I just purchased a new d-link dir 825 modem today as I thought my other router went bad too. I am able to access the internet on the wireless portion but cannot connect wired. The router is connected to a 24 port switch that is connected throught my wired house network. The computers do not recognize or see my home network, only the wireless one. All of the cables are good. Even when i connect from the new router directly with a an ethernet cable to my laptop it does not see the wired network. There has to be some kind of software setting that is out of wack as it does not appear to be a router, switch or cable issue. Any advise would be greatly appreciated

Soulds like a NIC clone issue u got there (feature needs to be enabled on the router). The Router hasn't learnt of your ethernet connection, to it.
