Hi. i have recenyly installed the latest RC build of windows 7 and i am having problems connecting to the internet via from my speedtouch bebox router i got from my ISP BeThere Uk.

The specs of my pc are below:

• ASUS P6T deluxe Socket 1336 Mobo
• 3GB DDR3 Ram
• Nvidia 260GTX card
• Intel i7 920 2.6GHZ Nehalem
• Seasonic m12 600W PSU
• Lian LI full tower PC-A7010 case
• Thermalright Ultra Extreme aka TRUE
• Enermax 120mm fan.

On the small taskbar icon at the bottom right side of the screen, i clicked on the lan settings and on it it says that i do have a internet connection but states how the network is unknown?

i cant browse the net at all but i can access my router. i have found a small temp fix for it by going into my LAN hardware settings and disabling and enabling it again and it works! The thing is, i have to do this EVERYTIME i reboot :(

i have vista 64bit installed on a different hdd and i am able to connect to the internet straight away after a reboot.

Any ideas? i tried manually installing the vista drivers for the network card but no joy. i am connected to my router via wired ethernet connection.

thanks in advance

Start up a cmd process, running as administrator and execute

Code:
ipconfig /all

and post the results.

Do you have Photoshop installed? I had much the same issue and discovered that CS3 installs the Bonjour service. If you have that running, set the startup to "Automatic (Delayed)" and it will solve this issue.

Filling out your system specs will also help in solving your problem.

Orb -> Config -> Services

Look at the list of started services, sort in alpha order. There should be one at or near the top with a very strange name ... something like

Code:
##Id_String1.6844F930_1628_4223_B5CC_5BB94B879762##

That's the service. Open properties on this thing, set the start property to "Automatic (Delayed)" and close the prop dialog. When next you reboot, your problem should be solved. It was/is for me.

While it's a little dated, I think this page (John Nack on Adobe: CS3 doesn't install spyware) might provide the answers needed. After reading that, I think I will either disable that service or completely remove it rather than let it run - mostly because I have no need or desire to access any Version Cue servers.
