hi i'm having a problem using dual monitors with the new RC windows 7, I have a ATI Radeon HD 4650 1GB video card, and i have a standard VGA monitor and trying to connect to my TV with an S-Video cable. when in the windows resolution, it "detects the tv input" but when i click on extend display and then hit apply it says unable to save settings. and in the CCC manager it shows the 2nd display but won't let me use it just greys out the TV and when i right click and hit connect it does nothing . i haven't had any problems connecting on XP with a dual, just on the RC any help would be awesome if any other specs or info is needed let me know and i would gladly post

i've tried that through the ATI site and through windows update, (unless a new one was released today) but still nothing at one time it let me make the tv my primary but wouldn't let me extend to the other one now it won't let me do that either thanks though

I have heard nothing but bad things about connecting with S-video but if it's a TV....what do you do? You have to try. Is there another way to connect it? Might try that if possible. S-video is a headache from everything I read.

Does your TV support D-SUB VGA input? :)

(then again if it did I don't think we'd be having this discussion, lol.)

Have we ruled out driver issues here?

The RC is bound to have issues with different hardware and drivers, if you can be pretty sure it is not there, connection is your problem here.

It must be driver problems.
Uninstall GFX driver.
Use CCleaner to clear registry.
Install latest driver.

See how it goes.

I am successfully using a dual monitor setup on an LCD HDTV set with some differences. My video controller is an nVidia 9300 and I'm using the VGA and HDMI connections, not S-Video.

Bye.

Ah I assumed it didn't work as main, interesting.

What drivers are you using for the card, is it the latest one from windows update, or the driver that originally came with the device?

Could be windows is having issues scaling because of some sort of incompatibility or driver issue.
