Solved Can't extend partitions. Can i merge them?

Hy guys,

I noticed few days after installing the windows that my C drive is only 78 GB. So i went to computer managment to check things and i noticed, that my 850GB's are in nowhere. I can't extend C drive, and I can't extend this "Primary partition"
So my question is, can i merge these things. I really don't want to reinstall windows because i've done it like 3 times in this week :S.
I don't want to mess something up myself so i wait here some pro's to anwser

You can try either one of these...to add the partitions back to C: drive.

Do you pay any attention to your partitioning or where you install Win7 when you install? You've made a mess of it, installing randomly to some Logical partition which cannot even host the System boot files so it placed them on the huge Primary partition at left.

Better to reinstall and get it right as I doubt whether you even came close to following the best practices in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

Delete all partitions and create new ones as you wish or just click Next and the installer will do it for you.

To keep the mess you have you'd need to use free Partition Wizard bootable CD to convert C to Primary, Resize the 755gb partition down to around a 200mb System Reserved partition meant to contain System files, then resize C to the left to take up the shrink space.

But we can't even see if you have other content on the 755 gb partition since you didn't show us the used space columns in the top listings. If you use it for storage then you can resize it larger for that purpose, but if you want to Delete it then you'll need to move the System boot files into C first by Marking C Partition Active and running Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times until C holds the System flag.

Let us know how you wish to proceed exactly using these options I've given you.

Greg is right, if you have your windows 7 dvd, do the install again and this time delete your exsisting partitions.

So finally i reinstalled windows. Now, I have a big 1Tb C'drive Where is windows and all bunch of files.

Are there any suggestions how to partition these or is there any point of doing that?
Greg, yeah i don't know anything about disk managment.

Make sure all of your Important and Optional Updates are installed.

Yes, you can leave it unpartitioned to try that for awhile.

If you decide you'd prefer to have other partitions for storage, then follow these two tutorials exactly:
Partition or Volume - Shrink
Partition or Volume - Create New
