Can't get rid of an icon

I try to delete an icon on my desktop that I no longer need an it won't go away because the program it is a shortcut to is no longer there. It is merely an icon why can't I delete it?

If you cant delete it normally (whats its name and properties), try rebooting into safe mode and doing it there.



Let us know if that doesnt work
