Can't get rid of searchnu hijack completely...

Dr web cure it got rid of alot of junk (over 600 pieces) but I'm still having a issue with this searchnu browser hijack when I open up IE.

Basically, I'll reset all the IE settings and when I open it back up, Searchnu is the start up page and immediately after it will take to me to the manage addons page when I must set up the home pages and toolbars I want to use.

I don't know what else to use. I used malwarebytes, sas and dr web...

I'm in safe mode as well.

The computer runs alot better when I got it just this last thing and I'm done.

How to upload a file :

Upload a File
Click on the Go Advanced button under the Message box . Scroll down to Addition Options then click on Manage Attachments in the Attach Files sections . Wait until it finishes uploading then close the window . Then click Submit Reply .

One typical problem is when there are additional browser setting guarding software installed with searchnu. Make sure you uninstall everything installed in the last days (by date) from control panel. That is why anti-malware scanner might be required (but not always).

On Internet explorer:
Click arrow on the right of search box
Do following: On IE8-9 choose Manage Search providers, On ie7 click change search defaults
Remove the unnecessary search engines from the list

On Firefox :
Enter “about:config” in url bar. This will open settings page
Type “Keyword.url” in the search box. Right click it & reset it.
Type “browser.search.defaultengine” in the search box. Right click it & reset it.
Type “browser.search.selectedengine” in the search box. Right click it & reset it.
Search for ‘browser.newtab.url’. Right-click and reset. This will make sure that the search page won’t launch on each new tab.

On Google Chrome:
Click 3 horizontal lines icon on browser toolbar
Select Settings
Select Basics ->Manage Search engines
Remove unnecessary search engines from list
Go back to settings. On Startup choose open blank page ( you can remove undesired pages from the set pages link too).

I'm gonna take a video snap and show you exactly what happens. No toolbars are installed except yahoo and Google. Weather channel and weather bug are installed. I'll reply after malwarebytes finishes scanning.

I believe Weather bug is known for search engine replacement. Actually, many of "free" weather /mp3/downloader apps are there only to replace search engines.

That screen pops up whenever I open Internet explorer, searchnu is the home screen I'm deleting all toolbars and most these crap programs.

Internet Options dialog box appears.
Click the Advanced tab.
Under Reset Internet Explorer settings, click Reset. Then click Reset again.

Click to select the Delete personal settings check box if you also want to remove browsing history, search providers, Accelerators, home pages, Tracking Protection, and ActiveX Filtering data.
When Internet Explorer finishes resetting the settings, click Close in the Reset Internet Explorer Settings

Yahoo toolbar won't uninstall I think that's the issue, when I uninstalled it said I didn't have proper rights to remove it. I ran adwcleaner again and it found more stuff.

Did that twice, I turned off system restore as maybe the adware kept on coming back, I'm still working on it now.

Are you trying to uninstall it from Control Panel ? Try using RevoUninstaller .

Removed yahoo toolbar by way if adwcleaner which basically removed some of the files and I for a notice it uninstalled I'm going to download record installer now too and make sure.

That's a good thing to do . Turning off the System Restore. Most adware and viruses hide in there . We could always turn that back on when we get the PC cleaned.
