Can't get to audio et al settings in Windows Media.

I've tried all the directions on getting to the Windows Media section where I can adjust sound settings but I don't seem to have the choices that are described. For example: If the Player is currently open and you’re in the Player Library, click the Switch to Now Playing button

in the lower-right corner of the Player.

I don't have the icon illustrated.

If you're in the library view, it's in the lower right. If you're in player view, it's in the upper right. There's no sound settings that I know of except volume and it's in both views.
