Long time browser but first time poster. I'm really struggling to find a solution to an issue and I've never been defeated by Windows before so am hoping some of you guys can help me sort this one out also.
I work in an Architectural office. My office is about to get some new high-spec PC's in a month or so. My current work PC is shockingly slow but I'm about to start using Revit on a very large project on Monday. To fill the void in until then I've offered to bring my brand new home PC (Core i7 3.4, 16GB RAM, 2gb Graphics) into the office for me to use in the mean time, the job would be impossible without this. Yep, poor planning on their part, but we are where we are.
I'd already installed Win 7 Pro x64 setup for home network with a standard single user, myself. Our IT guy (who's only in one day a week) added the work domain and my work login so I could use it on our network and get emails via Outlook etc. The issue is we cannot, no matter what we do, install any version of Office onto the PC. We've tried 2007, 2010 and 2013 versions and none of them will install no matter what we do. He and I have separately tried anti-virus and malware scans, registry cleaners (yep, we are that desperate!), Microsoft Fix It's, resetting Registry values back to default. We've checked Microsoft Installer service is running and configured and pretty much any other posted solution we could Google.
I now have the PC back at home spending my whole weekend Googling to try and sort this out. I'd not installed any MS Office products before but had installed Libre Office. I'm wondering if the fact I had a standard user installed and now also have a domain based login could be causing issues?
The process will start asking for Product Key, then accept terms, click install and install dialog pops up but progress bar doesn't move at all, it waits about 1 min then says it encountered a problem. Same thing with all Office versions.
I'd really appreciate it if you anyone has some nuggets of advice to me help sort this out for tomorrow. I've never had an issue like this before and am totally baffled.
