Can't install intel chipset drivers properly

Today i have installed a new SSD (my only drive), installed windows and appropriate drivers, except for one, it seems. The intel chipset drivers have not properly installed after selecting the option to do so on the CD included with my motherboard. See the attached screenshot for my list of devices, where you can see the issue. I am able to find the installed drivers in C:\windows\chipset\win7_XP, but as you can see in the screenshot, it's not working properly. After installation i also got a pair of errors that said it couldn't find hotfix\asussetup.ini, of which the folder does not exist. I managed to remove that error by making changes in the task scheduler, but that may have not gotten rid of the root cause.

The same MOBO drivers i installed earlier used to be installed on my previous windows install, on a HDD. There i discovered that they were the 9.3 drivers, which don't work with SSD's (they only work with an SSD from 9.6 and onward). My idea was to install the 9.3 drivers and then use the Intel Driver Update Utility (Intel(R) Driver Update Utility) to update them, but this didn't work either. Installing the program resulted in a bluescreen, with the message "page fault in non-paged area". After the following reboot the utility program wasn't starting (nor did it have a functional desktop icon), so i've uninstalled it, but i still don't have the right drivers now.

I have checked to see if TRIM is set to run by following this guide (SSD Tweaks and Optimizations in Windows 7), which it is, but i'm not sure if it can do it's job properly without the right drivers. How can i fix this?

EDIT: I should mention that the SSD itself did come with an installation cd, but i think that's only Samsung Magician, which i was told not to use. I've seen reports of it making it impossible to boot a system too.

I have been able to discover that TRIM is supported by the PCI IDE controller, so at least i'm not suffering from any degradation. I'd still prefer the intel chipset drivers though, since they apparently perform significantly better, and i need to get rid of that error.

I should also mention that my hardware is incompatible with IRST (which i don't need, but the chipset drivers are sometimes bundled with an IRST install). This might limit which software i can install in order to get the drivers i want.

Sorry, should have been obvious. It fixed the issues though! Only concern i have is that the driver version still says 9.3. I was under the impression that that's too old to work with TRIM. Am i right in that?

- TRIM
Type this cmd
fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify

It will give you one of two results, either a 0 or a 1. A zero indicates that TRIM is enabled correctly, a one means that it is not. If you have a TRIM-compatible SSD, but find that Windows 7 hasn't enabled the command, you can easily do so by running this command:

fsutil behavior set DisableDeleteNotify 0

And that does take the drivers into account? It couldn't be the case that it's scheduled to run, but can't because of the wrong dirvers, so it'll still return a 0 while it actually doesn't work? That's my concern here. It does return a 0, but i don't know if that checks for the drivers too.

Now that you have all drivers installed, give Intel driver utility a try.

I will continue with this, don't worry. Just having a very busy week, so it'll have to wait until the weekend. Perhaps even later. I haven't forgotten though.
