Solved Can't log in to some websites?

When I go to certain websites my computer won't let me log in.
I go through the log in process, and everything goes fine, but when I am redirected to the home page after logging in, I am still not logged in. I know it's not the website because they're forums and other people are posting. I also often get messages saying the websites security certificate has expired at almost every website i go to (even big ones like facebook).

Great advice, like always, Jonathan. In case it does not work, try logging in from another account. You can make one just to see if it is some sort of corruption with the account that you are using.

I just reset it and it still won't work.

By creating a new account do you mean a new account at one of the websites that isn't working, or a new account on my computer?

The one on your computer. If you are in an administrator account, make a standard and try to log in.

That message seems like it could be caused by a security program. What anti-virus and firewall are you using?

OK, i'm installing firefox right now, and i'm going to try it on that, then if that doesn't work i'll set up a standar user account.

Thanks. Try disabling the program and try installing Microsoft Security Essentials instead.

I'm still getting the security messages but it's atleast letting me ignore it and log in.

Yes, it is a full security suite. I use that as my only security system on my machine, and it has yet to let a virus through.

Dont just ignore the warning, find out the cause and correct it. The warning is for security. One day, you will log in to a place that you really should not, because you ignored the warning.

That is the best way. Use the uninstall tool, usually supplied by the website, the A/V came from. It must be uninstalled to install many of the others out there.

A/V are notorious for leaving remnants, that make it impossible to install another.

If you uninstall Trend, you could lose the rest of your subscription to them. As such, I don't often advice people to uninstall it unless we can determine for sure that it is the culprit.

That said, I prefer MSE to any other program. If you did uninstall Trend, I guarantee you you would not be disappointed.
